My Marsh Memory series was painted during the summer of 2016 when my son was home from school. I didn't want to miss out on my summer with him, but I also didn't want to stop painting for 10 weeks. So I made a schedule for myself of days I would paint, and then set the timer for 2 hours each of those days.
This series is proof to myself that even a small amount of time creating, is better than none. I found that making 25 small, loose paintings was much better than painting 0 large, detailed paintings.
So when I feel like I don't have enough time to do the things I love, I hope the "Memories" of creating all these quick, but still rewarding paintings will remind me...
We make time for what we care about. Even if it is less time than we would prefer.
