This was a painting I commissioned for ME! I painted it last fall, and just realized it never made it to my web site.
I painted at a time when I was very down about my career as an artist. So down, that I was about to pack up my brushes once I finished this one last piece. I'm glad I kept on painting.
This winter scene hung over my fireplace all last winter, and made me very thankful that God has gifted me to be able to create something so beautiful.
The little blue bottle reminds me of my grandma, since it used to sit on the windowsill of her cozy bright house, that was home to she and my grandpa for over 50 years.
It now spends time on my windowsill during winter and summer--or whenever I feel like bringing out my blue bottle collection. But whenever I first take it out of the cupboard, I always think of my loving little 4'10" Italian grandma named Elda.
